Abstract
Cloud computing has revolutionized the modern information technology industry by providing scalable, on demand, and cost-effective computing resources over the internet. Organizations increasingly depend on cloud platforms for storage, computation, networking, software deployment, and digital transformation. Cloud computing enables flexible resource allocation, virtualization, distributed processing, and service-oriented architectures that significantly improve business efficiency and reduce infrastructure costs. Despite its advantages, cloud computing continues to face several technical, organizational, and security-related challenges. Research areas such as data privacy, interoperability, resource management, energy efficiency, fault tolerance, virtualization security, cloud migration, and edge-cloud integration remain active fields of investigation. Emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), edge computing, serverless computing, and quantum cloud computing are also reshaping modern cloud architectures. This paper presents an overview of cloud computing, including service models, deployment models, architecture, methodologies, and current research challenges. The study also investigates recent developments, experimental frameworks, advantages, limitations, ethical concerns, future directions, and open research opportunities in cloud computing environments.
